I am terrified about Project 2025 and the possible rise of fascism here and the efforts by big donors to create chaos in the Dem party at this stage of the game.

People magazine has a primer on Project 2025 and it's terrific. https://people.com/what-is-project-2025-inside-far-right-plan-trump-presidency-8622964

(I know this because Hillary Clinton posted it on Instagram stories and I reposted. I wanted to append, Why isn't the NYT or the WaPo doing this instead of the usual both sides-y poll-driven horse race story but no way to do that and leave the post legible.)

As a small child learning my numbers, I remember having strong feelings about certain ones. I “knew” that odd numbers were male and even were female. (Later I read this aligns with Chinese thinking.)

I got that 1s were oddball and arrogant. 2s were friendly and polite. 7s were unlucky (contrary to many beliefs). The best number? 4.

I’m not “into” numerology but I find Pythagoras had some interesting ideas. Also pretty weird.

I’d love to survey three-year-olds about what various numbers feel like to them. Is it cultural? Would the name of the number influence how the see them? Like that the Chinese word for four sounds like the word for death—hence its unlucky association there…

I suspect many of us have unconscious associations worth studying, especially before naming something.

I agree with 4! My lucky number! My mother loves 7.

Humans love to perceive patterns. I’ve been listening to Barbra Streisand’s autobiography and she insists that 24 is her “lucky number.” I guess it’s worked for her.
