I know this is off topic but re: your footnote how bad does it have to get for the vile Anthropic to come off as the underdog. (They are ripping off scientific books and papers, too, I'm claiming in the class action suit on behalf of my dead father.)
They ripped off a book I contributed to. Apparently the ripping-off wasn’t extensive enough, or my appeal wasn’t persuasive enough, for me to earn a few bucks in restitution. I never heard back after filing my claim.
The class action won’t be settled till later this year. Make sure you file the claim as well as the original notice although I think they’ll try to find you. (Not all books and papers in the Atlantic database are in the suit -i’m in an authors’ group that has discussed this EXTENSIVELY - yet few seem aware they’ve also ripped off scientists, including the scientists that made AI possible of course.)
