I confess I'm a little worried about what El Caudillo de Mar-A-Lago will do if he gets mad enough. I can just picture him saying, "Always chickens out, eh? Wait til they see THIS!"
I agree. "TACO" is a clever, convenient acronym, but not a great one. "Taco's" real meaning says nothing positive or negative about Trump. And it's likely to be taken as a childish taunt and challenge by a childish, demented, petulant, stupid, malignant person.
Trump's likely reaction would be: "Oh yeah? We'll see who's a chicken!" And he would accelerate his destruction of the country with a justified fervor.
But there does seem to be a correlation between gibe, jive, and jibe.
Examples from the Mac online dictionary:
• …her facial expressions did not jive with what she was saying. [1940s: originally by association with jibe [jibe is also a sailing term, meaning problems with the boom]
• gibe | jīb | (also jibe)noun…an insulting or mocking remark; a taunt: a gibe at his old rivals.
I think the writer would have been less ambiguous with (petty) insult, taunt, or mocking.
Good catch on the “gibe” vs. “jibe.” Dave Pell has been on this in his Substack posts, Next Draft, and came up with one for Congress: CHALUPA. - Congress Has Acquiesced Like Unbelievably Pathetic A….

There was a recent song by Carne Cruda called I Love You More Than Tacos. The ultimate expression of devotion.

Okay, Nancy,
Another interesting read. I love tacos and it's too bad they have become correlated with that idiot Trump.
I can think of other nicknames for him that I've used for years.
Great story and interesting background.
And now I'm hungry.
