Feh. I can only read it as forest-algia. It’s not really a #shitmanteau but it’s as bad as one.

Yeah, even just looking at the beer label, I was thinking, "What, pain caused by trees?"

I, too, kept reading it as “forest-algia.” Maybe the opposite of forest bathing. 😛

And that design studio bit—ay yi yi!

Just another London Design Studio. I might have evaluated a bid from them back in the day, but all London Design Studios wrote like that so who can know, really.

Thanks for this look back into the future. Alas, a closely-related word I contributed to the madeupical lexicon has also failed to gain traction. When Xitter was still Twitter (September, 2020), someone who has since vanished their post pleaded: "We need a term for the sense of loss accompanying the realization that possible futures have been made impossible. Wisftul recollection of lost futures."

"Lostalgia" was my response.

I think we all feel these things even when we don't have words for them.

Let's make lostalgia happen.

Talk about teeth and edges!

I suppose yearning or longing were deemed too wussy for the advertising world.

In German I often have pangs of “Ostalgie,” which is my longing for the days of optimism and discovery in newly-independent eastern European countries.

The term was used more cynically in the (western) German press, thrown at those holdovers in the eastern part of their country (who are now AfD voters).

“Ostalgie" can also mean nostalgia for the East German Communist regime rather than its demise. And Ostalgie is the name of a video game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/774091/Ostalgie_The_Berlin_Wall/
