This is a great linkstack. I've wanted to something similar but wasn't sure what frequency would work, and this persuaded me that monthly is ideal. The design is especially appealing in its fine balance of art and text. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Thanks, Jan! I started doing monthly link roundups many years ago on my old TypePad blog (also called Fritinancy). It's a way to keep on top of my beat (names and language) and to highlight good work by other writers.
What happens when you rebrand? Proceed with caution. With Campbell's, the iconic red/white mark is indelible and dropping the word "soup" is barely noticeable. But Jaguar -- engender the wrath of devoted customers. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Can’t decide which is my favorite, learning the word tusovka (possibly essential in the next administration) or the Hebrew history of the word for dachshund. ❤️😂

Daughter and I were gutted to fly DEN-EWR yesterday without our beloved Hemispheres magazine. It was the perfect non-commitment airplane diversion.

This is a lot to take in!
Too much? Too soon?
No, it’s great! Very chockfull!
Thank you! I always aim to be full of chock.

Macquarie Dictionary's (Australia) Word of the Year is one you’ve written about and that I voted for in their survey: enshittification
It really sums up 2024 and probably 2025 as well…
They're a year late. "Enshittification" was the American Dialect Society's WOTY for 2023: https://americandialect.org/2023-word-of-the-year-is-enshittification/
Well, they are far away from North America … 😁
