I was thinking this post was going to be about *euphemisms* for mercenary groups, so here's my pitch for one: Roth IRAs. Because they help people "retire," and the initialism evokes... a different sort of group!

Severance, Severance, Severance.

Alright, alright, alright.

You are right, the best show on Apple TV is Slow Horses, the best show on any TV is Slow Horses. And although I don’t like comedies and am allergic to heartwarming, exceptions must be made.

I succumbed to Shrinking. Watching Harrison Ford play a grumpy old fart of a psychiatrist is worth a go.

So much to say about this - I loved it. Academi seems like a good name for Bannon's erstwhile gladiator school in Italy--maybe with a euphemistic name like that the locals wouldn't have run him out of town. Re: Apple TV I am fond of Severance and the Morning Show although I'm not sure the latter is up your alley.

Another friend recommended Severance; I'll have a look. My problem, if you can call it that, is that I don't much like series television, and I especially dislike cliffhanger-style series TV. “Slow Horses" is very much in that genre, and it's what I like least about it.

It's just a necessary evil of series tv. But along the way Severance is really fascinating even for someone like me who has rarely worked in a corporate environment. And I have a friend who has, who looks, dresses, and speaks just like one of the main evil characters. I hope she's not reading this. On another matter did the mercenary training camp in the 4th season of Slow Horses have a name other than Major Plot Point? I can't recall.

(And on the Apple Teevee Plus front, I feel obliged to point out "The Afterparty" as a show where a bunch of the people involved were word nerds - they hired David Kwong to put easter eggs everywhere that relate to the central murder mystery.)

(Jackson emits a horrible fart.)

"Ooof. Hope that doesn't get in the groundwater."

(Exits Rolls Royce.)

That was pretty great too.

Loved that. And “Sly Monteith” — the Rolls owner — is such a good name.

On Apple TV, if you like beautiful trash, try La Maison. Mid-season, the quality of (some of) the acting breaks through the silliness of the script. It’s not knowing enough to be camp itself, it’s more like the raw material for camp.

Not my sort of thing, but thanks.

Knew someone, ex-soldier, who did very well out of one called Sandline. Don't know whether they could draw or not.
